- Economic impact
- Social or territorial impact
- Innovation
- Educational and dissemination potential
To be included in the Intellectual Property Success Stories Database, cases must achieve a minimum score of 60 points. The scoring is for evaluation purposes only — it does not generate classification, ranking, or awards among participants.
What it means to join the Database
It is important to note that the inclusion of a case in the Database does not guarantee its dissemination by INPI. Selected cases may be used by the Institute in institutional communication, education, campaigns, events, publications, and educational materials, according to institutional interest and subject to the authorizations granted by participants.
Participation in the call does not alter the ownership of intellectual property rights, which remain with their respective holders. There is also no type of remuneration, prize, certification, or institutional seal concession.
Why this matters
The Intellectual Property Success Stories Database is an initiative that recognizes the strategic role of IP in Brazil’s development. By gathering concrete experiences in the use of trademarks, patents, industrial designs, geographical indications, software, and integrated circuit topographies, INPI creates a repository of references that can:
- Inspire new inventors and entrepreneurs to protect and value their creations
- Demonstrate the return on investment in IP for companies and institutions
- Support public policies for innovation and intellectual property
- Strengthen the Brazilian innovation ecosystem with real and verifiable cases
For companies that have built competitive advantages from IP, this is an opportunity to register and disseminate this journey — contributing to Brazil’s advancement in the culture of protecting and valuing intangible assets.
