INPI Opens Scholarship of R$ 6 Thousand for Research on Technical Divergences in Trademarks [2026]

INPI's PDPI Notice offers a grant of R$ 6,000/month for 12 months for research on divergences between first and second instance decisions in trademark matters. Applications until July 24.

INPI published on this Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the notice for the selection process to grant a research assistant scholarship under the Industrial Property Development Program (PDPI). The project’s objective is the “Consolidated identification of technical divergences between decisions of the 1st and 2nd administrative instances in trademark matters”.

Value and Duration

The scholarship has a monthly value of R$ 6,000.00 and a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal. Activities will be carried out in person at the General Coordination of Appeals and Nullity Administrative Proceedings (CGREC) of INPI, in Rio de Janeiro.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (mandatory)

About the Project

The project seeks to consolidate and analyze technical divergences between first and second instance administrative decisions of INPI in trademark matters. Identifying these divergences is an important step for harmonizing understandings within the Institute, contributing to greater predictability and legal certainty in trademark examinations.

The research will be linked to CGREC, the unit responsible for appeals and nullity administrative proceedings, indicating that the scholarship holder will have direct contact with INPI’s decision-making practice.
